| Foals – Bad Habit Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure this song is about someone falling in love with you, but for reasons related to your self confidence and for their own safety, you don't want them to, mainly because you feel like you would hurt them, etc. | |

I think this song is about his past, and how he wants things to be how it used to be before his parents divorce. I think this because... "I wish I was like you, easily amused." Kurt said himself in his suicide note, that his daughter reminds himself of the younger him, the him before his parents divorced. She is easily amused, and happy going. She loves everyone she meets. This line could represent how, he wishes he was like that again. He wishes he was happy. "Find my nest of salt, Everything's my fault." When he moved with his Dad, he thought he was happy, his nest. But once his father got re-married, everything became HIS fault, and he was always being put down. "I'll take all the blame, Aqua seafoam shame." Like before, everything became his fault. And he took it. He didn't fight about it, he just took it, because in a way he sort of, believed it was his fault, he was ashamed that his parents divorced, he believed it was his fault, like he could of done something. "Sunburn with freezerburn, Choking on the ashes of her enemy." I'm not sure what this means. My parents divorced too, and I absolutely love this song. |

I think when she wrote this... It was about a guy, because I feel this exact way with my ex, and it relates to parents being divorced, because both of our parents split up... And it's effected us both. When she refers to an emergency, I think she is referring to, that she's falling quickly, and it isn't good, and it's a rush. Like, an emergency viechle. They are fast, and rushing, and loud. It's always something urgent. I feel this way for, my feelings must get across to my ex... because if not I'm afraid he might do something stupid. When she said, "If you thought'd leave, then you were wrong, because I won't stop holding on..." means, he thought she'd leave him alone, and move on, like she has to everyone else, and what everyone else does. They just leave him. But she is holding on, and she has hope, but he doesn't believe it. "And I can't pretend that I don't see this, it's really not your fault... When no one cares to talk about it", I like this line because, It's like she's saying, she can't pretend to see him hurt, because everything isn't his fault. It was actually the cause of his parents being divorced, that has effected him. No one cares to talk about it with him, and now he's just stopped talking about it, and doesn't like to, but it still hurts him, a lot. "Cause I've seen love die, Way too many times, When it deserved to be alive. I've seen you cry, Way too many times, When you deserved to be alive", This means, she has seen her parents love die, and she has seen so many others love die, when they really should of stayed together. She's also saying, she's seen him cry a lot, and he doesn't deserve to cry, because it wasn't his fault. "So you give up every chance you get, just to feel new again", I really like this line too. My ex, he always gives up RIGHT when something gets good. When he is almost at the peak of being happy he just, quits... And it's only to make sure he keeps his mask, or to feel 'new', like, someone new, that everyone loves, because he is afraid of being judged. "And you do your best to show me love, but you don't know what love is." This explain itself. "Scars, they will not fade away. No one cares to talk about it, can we talk about it?" This I also like. My exes scars will not go away, they are there and they are there. There's no erasing them. No one ever cares to ask him about it, because of his mask, he doesn't show that side. But I want to talk about it with him, because I've been through it, and I want him to be happy, and I want him to know that he IS wanted, and there is something called 'love', and it's what I feel for him. Maybe it isn't that 'romance' love anymore, but it's still love. I love him. Ohboy, I wrote a lot. Anyways, that's what I think this song means. |

Love this song. Just heard it today, I absolutely love it. I wrote down the lyrics on the back of a poster to help find homes for 2 cats I know. I'm showing it to my teacher tomorrow, because we have an assignment, to recite a poem. I'm just going to recite the lyrics to this song. I won't be surprised if I start giggling afterwards, when reciting the poem. This song has lots of meanings... In the first paragraph, it seems like he's asking the person if he/she is happy where they are, in their position, and how it feels like to be there. The chorus, is practically self explanatory. He is telling everyone to share their 'secrets' or their regrets. He wants them to tell him their secrets so he can say "Don't make the mistakes that they made for a lifetime Just don't make the mistakes that they did" to them. The second verse, he is encouraging them to 'aim for the heavens', meaning, to set your goals to high standards. He is saying that they should let themselves go. That they make a difference in the world. He is saying that they can do whatever they wanted. And that we were made for a reason, that we are here today for a reason. The third verse... He is saying that things will always go wrong. No matter how much you try for it to not, it will. He is saying though that it's okay to have your alone time, and that the world won't bother you when you need it. Then he says to them, that they will try again, but they will set higher goals. "Redesign the past, go back" he means, they can change the past if they accept it. This is from my view. |
