I almost certain that is none of the above. Is about a person that is tired about his day to day life. He thinks is to late for him to follow dreams or change his life cu'z of responsibilities towards others (maybe a family). Also he's trying to push those thoughts down but they keep coming. But as he is letting go the pressure he is then starting to find what it is that he wants but he is already felling like it is impossible , just a dream. And then "But don't cut your losses too soon 'cause you'll only be cutting your throat" Don't give up so soon for you will bury your potential thus you will be killing yourself . Amazing song , Amazing lyrics. This band transformed itself between the first and second albums. It's unbelievable. They where the little pebble inside the oyster that transformed into a pearl. My brother has been listening to them since 1998 and I new of them then but never really appreciated them till recently after really paying attention to the lyrics. Long live DT! |

I agree with "bananaface" and I think this verse backs it up: The coldness of his words The message in his silence "Face the candle to the wind" The distance in my voice isn't leaving you a choice If you are looking for a time to run away... He is asking to be set free, for someone to help him face the light of his candle to the wind. Sad song but beautiful message. |
