I agree with the suicide idea. The father of a my distant nephew and neice hung himself a year ago. Those kids are lost, as he abandoned them when young. He did not even recognize his own son whom he was asked to bail out of jail just before his death. Steve Wilson creates music like this that crawls up your spine and into your mind. I love the repetitive background and how he builds the frightening noise to a climax. I see this guy swinging from the tree too in my mind and the screwed up lives of these kids. Absolutely frightening thoughts that Steven conjures in his music. Recall the hanging tree in his opening track of Storm Corrosion (the You Tube video). |

It conjures pictures of desert oasis and on the horizon the band is coming. They arrive and swing open the tent door, swords drawn....and poetry is read that sounds like Moody Blues doing a rendition of King Crimson's "Starless" from the Red album. It is like a hyped up version of Crimson's "Red" with echoes of Middle Eastern Led Zeppelin and Yes melded together in one. Absolutely invigorating song. These guys are totally out of the box. |

I agree about the 3rd verse with Fanta-1. Right after he sings it the song literally seems to lift you up into the sky where you look down upon your little world. Ultimately cool. I can't believe I didn't know this music until now. |

For some odd reason this song reminds me of the notorious BTK case. The killer now realizes he is "the monster". A horribly beautiful song. And terrifying as well. |
