Momma's gonna wash it all away And she thinks mercy's overrated I'm guessing "Momma" is Mother Nature? |

| Townes Van Zandt – Snowin' On Raton Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
In the first verse "When the wind don't blow in Amarillo And the moon along The Gunnison don't rise Shall I cast my dreams Upon your love, babe And lie beneath The laughter of your eyes" Those things can never happen, she's dead. In the chorus "It's snowin' on Raton Come morning I'll be through Them hills and gone" It's tough but I'm going to make it. In the second verse "Mother thinks the road Is long and lonely Little brother thinks The road is straight and fine Little darling thinks The road is soft and lovely I'm thankful that old road Is a friend of mine" Everyone around me has their opinions but it's my life to live. (Chorus) In the third verse "Bid the years good-bye You cannot still them You cannot turn The circles of the sun You cannot count the miles Until you feel them And you cannot hold A lover that has gone" Sometimes that's just how life is, it is hard on you. (Chorus) It's tough but I'll make it through this one soon. Final verse. "Tomorrow the mountains Will be sleeping Silent 'neath a blanket Green and blue All that I shall hear The silence they are keeping I'll bring all their promises to you" Sometimes life is pretty and it reminds me of you. |

| The booklet that came with the cd says the last line is "rejoice when it succumbs", but this song is great. | |

| I love this song seems quite dirty to me, just like I should take a shower. I know it would probably never happen but I would love to hear Nine Inch Nails cover this song. | |
| Soundgarden – Dusty Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| very (semi-oddly) inspirational song | |
| Citizen Cope – Appetite (For Lightin' Dynamite) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Ever heard of a "thrill junkie", kinda what I get from this song. The first verse seem to me like it's about a BAMF, probably a hitman or something like that, who gets high off of killing or whatnot. The second verse I would say is about a stripper, she's got a song (even though Frank Sinatra seems odd for a stripper), she's got the sun, the moon and the wind = she likes to be outdoors. | |

| So... I've got to agree with thilighthousestale on this one. He says "D'Artagnan, good ol' D'Artagnan, he aint got a thing on me...", to me that sounds like this soldier who can't stand to hurt anyone but himself (south of Babylon) is saying he is not D'Artagnan. | |
