| Björk – Mutual Core Lyrics

The song seems to juxtapose a relationship (presumably romantic given other Biophilia tracks) to plate tectonics. Actually quite an accurate comparison when you think about it! All healthy personal relationships require a level of compromise, push-&-pull, give-&-take, reciprocity. And much like how the plates must shift, collide, and subsume, striving for a perfect fit, we must do the same for a relationship to be successful. Even when everyone tries their hardest, things can go wrong (erupt)! Yet, things may be recovered, stabilize, and breathe new life into a relationship/landmass as sparks fly, feelings are expressed, and problems are dealt with.
Wow, that was a lot longer than I thought! Just my thoughts on this excellent song. |

| Florence + the Machine – My Boy Builds Coffins Lyrics

I think, in addition to being a literal tale from Florence's life, perhaps "my boy" is Death? Someone mentioned it as being the equalizer, which is very true. He "builds coffins" for everyone because everyone dies, and we all are going to meet an end somehow, regardless of "sunshine or rain". Of course, we all try to postpone it, and not even Death wholly enjoys his job ("...you can never see it again"), regardless of the work he puts in ("crafts every one with love & care"). |

@abbyrose That makes a fair amount of sense, but most don't even know of the Illuminati conspiracy theories, and the song/video itself don't really directly show anyone being a direct puppet, let alone enjoying it. She gets stoned in the end of it! It's not really romanticized or popularized as far as I can see. |

| Amy Winehouse – Love Is A Losing Game Lyrics

Such a beautiful song. One of her finest moments. Honestly, I really do prefer Amy the songwriter, over Amy the singer. Now, she was a great singer, don't get me wrong, but she had an absolutely lovely way with words. She knew how to get emotions in her compositions across without being overly complex or try-hard (not that complexity's bad, but it tends to be overused). And her lyrics are distinctive! Which is delightful in a world of dime-a-dozen songwriters across many musical genres. May she rest in peace. I also wish the best for her talented goddaughter, who hopefully avoids the fate that stole Amy from the world and music. |

I don't fully agree with your take on the song, but I find it really interesting! Great job, and I do agree with some aspects of your interpretation, the whole whoring yourself out for something you believe in. |

Many people realize their transgendered from a very young age and their brain structure often resembles their mental sex, moreso than their physical one. So in that sense, they are born that way. I do agree on the awkward-as-hell lyrics, though. Very trite... Thank goodness, this track is the weakest on the album. |

Er, gay marriage is only legal in Mexico City, Mexico's capital. It hasn't been legalized in the rest, of the country as far as I know. Sorry, for being a bit off-topic. |

Brilliant track, and I agree that it's about the internet and file-sharing (the line about being made to fit into a laptop seems to imply this). Also, the riff = catchiness incarnate. |

For the love of Jesus/Judas! Alright, let's look at things from the conspiracy theorists' perspective. Let's assume GaGa is some puppet who soul her soul (nevermind what exactly a soul is and how one can sell it). Let's assume she's now under strict control by some NWO executives who control her every move. Let's assume that she's forced to place "occult" symbols into her work to brainwash/manipulate the populace (again, nevermind the fact that the apparent mind-control is very easily removed by visiting a few websites). Assuming all that, WHY would her handlers allow her to release a song denouncing her controllers and soul-owners and admitting regret over her decision?! A bit of thought goes a long way... but then again I suppose I was just planted here to try to "brainwash" you, right? Sorry for the rant, but most conspiracy theorists are the biggest sheep, just with a different shepherd. |
