Oh this is trueeeeee! So true! Faith that stands like a mountain. Unwavering faith. I really like your comment here. So good. Through the calm and through the storm: He is worthy. So so worthy. Always. Ah. Feeling really encouraged reading these posts! I'm going through a couple of John Marks songs and reading peoples comments and things and it's so nice haha. Feeling good... Oh, His love is extravagant! Oh, how He loves us :)

John Mark McMillan – Dress Us Up Lyrics 14 years ago
Ohhhhh. This is my absolute favourite song that John Mark has written. It's my lifesong haha, seriously. If I could choose one song to sing for the rest of my life, it would be this one. Hands down! It speaks of His love, and how it has overcome the power of death, death has lost its sting, and Gods love just stomps all over that and blots it out. Oh I love it. The line that tugs most at my heart, well there are two of them, but the one that is very dear to my heart and that I manage to plaster everywhere (I even write it on my Facebook status like, often hahah) is: When you walk into the room You know I can't resist, every bottle of perfume always ends up on the floor in a mess" ... Oh, my heart delights. I think that is one of the most beautiful string of words ever written. It paints the most beautiful picture in my mind, of Mary knelt down before Jesus, pouring out her expensive perfume on His feet. It also speaks to me of like, the gift we bring to Him, the love we bring to Him to pour out all over Him. When we meet with Him, our intentions should be to bless Him and love on Him cos He is so so worthy, so so worthy of all that AND more. And like, when we come to Him and give Him what we have, the song of love that we sing, the dance that we dance, the whatever it is: I think we leave more blessed and what-not than anything haha. We meet with Him, pour out our song and all of that, our worship (by the way I'm not saying that music is worship, because worship is more than that. We can use music to worship Him, but music in itself is NOT worship: it's a vehicle) we always come away looking a bit more like or, or effected or changed in some way ... When we're in His presence, is what I'm getting at. When we're in His presence, THAT is when things happen, THAT is when things change, THAT is when hearts are re-aligned, THAT is when good things take place haha. So like, this perfume thing. When Mary washed Jesus' feet, she poured the perfume all over His feet and stuff, and she didn't mean to use any on herself or get any on her, but she did, and she came away smelling just like Jesus... That's what happens to us when we come to Him and just BE, and stuff. In His presence, things happen. In His presence, we come to hang with Him, and we leave looking/smelling like Him. We become more and more like Him .. Oh I could talk about this forever, but I'd rather go talk TO Him! :) Ha!

Oh. I read this the other day, and my goodness it wrecked me.
John Mark sings out his thoughts, his feelings, his pain.
He is raw, real and honest.
And it blows me away how through it all, the sunshine and the rain, he comes back to the truth- standing firm in what he KNOWS to be true over what he is FEELING, and declares that He is good. I love that. This song holds so much power and authority. I like it that, whenever this song is sung/heard, things will happen. Awesome things, because it has the touch of God on it. There is such a massive anointing all over it, and it gets me sewwww excited. HA.

John Mark McMillan – Death in His Grave Lyrics 14 years ago
Hi there! Hello.

I follow John's blog type thing, and I read this the other week. It's really cool. He gives like a line-by-line commentary for this song, explaining why he wrote this and why he wrote that and just his thoughts & all that jazz. It's so good to be able to see where he's coming from and what he was thinking at the time. Things like this get me so amped and excited, it's a special thing for a writer to let the listener/reader gain more insight into the who, what, where, when, why etc ... So, high-five John :)

"On Friday a thief on Sunday a king

Jesus obviously wasn’t a thief, but he was crucified between 2 thieves and thus treated like a thief on one day yet risen as a king only a few days later. I wanted this line to express the contrast between the 2 perceptions of Jesus that changed so quickly in a short amount of time. The colloquialism allows for a little exaggeration and helps me make this contrast more apparent."

Oh my word, John Mark is so amazing. Man oh man.

Oh my word. That is flipping incredible. That is the most profound thing .. Wow.
"If it would shake a nation, I will give my life today" and that night He died.
Man oh man. And look at how crazy amazing his testimony has been. His testimony of Gods love and goodness, oh my word. His earthsuit is no more, but he's walking the streets paved with gold and having party times, forever, with the King in the Kingdom. Oh goodie :) And, his story will continue to touch lives and impact people in big big ways down here. Oh, God. You are such a good God.

Cold War Kids – Dreams Old Men Dream Lyrics 14 years ago
When I first heard this song, I wondered what it was about. Dreams old men dream, WHAT THE does that mean haha.
After listening through a couple times, the core message that I gathered up from it was pretty much along the same lines as what @Sunshineshine said. I really like this song. Cold War Kids, cut it out. Such a rad band, hey! Oh, also, I found this bible verse that could have been a bit of inspiration for this song aswell ..
"..... Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions..." Joel 2.28
