The first time I heard it I immediatly thought of Alex's relationship with Lisa, breaking & making up all the time, haha. Like in this verse "We would go out on the weekend / To escape our busy lives" He's probably talking about how he's always touring and she's always working with her trees and stuff. I think it's about how he doesn't want to argue with her because he wants to keep her, so he keeps his distance for their best. |
