Whether it was written for the movie or not, i'm going with my own interpretation. This is one of my favorite songs and fits so many situations. It fits the story of two of my characters' relationship: They became fast friends after meeting, but were hesitant to show their affection. Things get pretty intense in the story, and someone dies in his place at the end of the year. The next year, she has to leave him to find her father, but she was deceived and he and their friends come to rescue her. They escape and danger only seems to come into their lives more and more often following then. The next year, their relationship is severed and complicated. The following year, he leaves for the war and she is separated from him and stays behind, but has to leave home to seek refuge from an invasion. They become reunited about a month later, and continue to face peril... That's as much as i've written, but it's so amazing! I love it :) |

I think this song is conveying the message that she just wants to go her own way: a path that is her own; uncharted.
