| Matt Nathanson – Heartbreak World Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think this song is so inspiring. The title might turn people away, but its saying that although people try to tear you down. The heartbreak world (breaks people hearts and dreams) has so much to offer and that if you try and brush pass the fact it is a heartbreak world you can make your dreams come true. Which to me also brings back the title if you look at it and although it just seems like a sad pessimistic song you realize how inspirational and optimistic it really is. | |
| Ron Pope – A Drop In The Ocean Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
My thoughts: A drop in the ocean is insignificant; but later it becomes a change in the weather. A change of weather is often used as a signal for change in attitude or change in the circumstance. I think the drop in the ocean is showing an insignificant happening but ends up changing the weather; I think it must be the drop becoming rainfall of some sort, maybe a storm even. Rainfall and storms usually represent something bad occurring, like her not loving him anymore. He won’t accept that though and is still praying they’ll end up together. I think the desert and rain scenario has to do with him hoping for something he knows there is no chance of occurring; aka her loving him again. On to the part about his excuse being that he loved a women like a little girl. I take it that he is comparing himself to a little girl. The parts before this talk about normal changes like in New England the leaves are changing. I think he’s saying he can’t change and get over her and his excuse is he loves her like a little girl. Little girls get attached and I think he feels this way about her. |

| The Afters – Summer Again Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
i don't think the girl actually died. I think this song has to do with their relationship. For some reason the girl leaves him and leaves him sad. I think it was a breakup neither wanted, but for some reason better for her. Or maybe after summer they must return to normal lives; it couldve been a vacation spot they met at. He tries to get her back or make things work, but he cant. She doesnt actually fade, but her actual being with him does and her memory becomes less vivid. He's sad about it but hes letting her memory go, thinking he will see her again next summer. But when that time comes he doesnt get her back. That's what I think its about anyways. But i think also as redpeach said it can apply to other situations. There might not actually be a "she" but she can be referring to something else. |

| Billy Joel – Vienna Lyrics | 14 years ago |

i think the part "But then if you're so smart tell me why You are still so afraid? " is billy joel like taunting someone if your so ready to grow up, than why are you afraid to do so? and that is him proving a point saying your not ready to grow up yet, so enjoy right now. and i think the fire is his way of saying whats the emergency to grow up? and that you gotta get over it before its too late to enjoy your youth |
