| The White Stripes original video (which is the album version also) is 2:25. The Jack Johnson cover is 2:19. They both have exactly the same lyrics, and little dead time. I just watched the White Stripes video and the music ends at 2:20 (last few seconds are Jack poking Meg, and fadeout). That's the long version - the short version is that the Jack Johnson song is not, in fact, slower. I also don't think it's more peaceful (they are both about as laid back as it gets), though I suppose it's subjective. If you prefer Jack Johnson for his voice, that's cool ... we all have opinions. JJohnson's version is very good, and very true to the original. | |
