| I'm glad you figured it out. I greatly admire Dylan's song-writing abilities but this one I don't "get". I can't decode theme, content, who, what, where, when, or why. At face value it's just incoherent rambling. A lot of Dylan's songs are rough sketches rather than finished works. This is generally good because it facilitates a certain looseness but I find VoJ to be one of his worst songs because it lacks structure. That's simply my opinion. We all have them. I find it facinating why people love this song. It doesn't surprise me in the least that nobody seems to be able to describe what its about. I can't find any connection to what people are writing and the actual content of the song. I think Dylan's just messing with people's minds. | |
