"I was a loner I was just waiting by myself When you, warped temptress Rose to bring me happiness and wealth Black tears, black smile, black credit cards and shoes" Ill break it down for you, " I was a loner". He was someone who did not have confidence of friends or something to grasp in the future. "When you, warped temptress". A being that seduces with a graceful manner to convince or to induce an action. "Rose to bring me happiness and wealth". Came up and offered him happiness, a deal is sealed with the devil it is said to bring overall temporary happiness and instant wealth. "Black tears, black smile, black credit cards and shoes". The shadow which will hunt him for ever. |

Silly humans... The Handshake, clearly says it. He shook his hand with the devil and made a pack, sealed the deal. "People always told me Don't forget your roots I know I can feel them underneath my leather boots" He has Jewish roots, so on his family always told him to stick to his religion but he is a wild spirit, so he goes for something different. "We got the handshake under our tongue, We got the handshake under our tongue", is clearly stating that he made the deal trough his lyrics, trough music trough the words which spread to millions of people trough his tongue. I can't believe how ignorant and how fragrantly you guys listen to MGMT songs, they are so deep and mysterious. |

| MGMT – I Found a Whistle Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I found A whistle... Like many MGMT songs, this song is about freedom. A way to escape reality. Clearly he says" Yeah I found a whistle as thin as a sheet", referring to ACID (LSD), which comes in a small thin squared sheet and then ingested trough the mouth placing it on the tongue. This metaphorical way for his view of LSD is the way he sees LSD, trough a whistle which he then puts it on his mouth and whistles to split the dumbness of a vision between asleep and a sleep. |
