Dramamine, when one takes the whole container full, produces kinda weird and subtle visual and auditory hallucinations, it's pretty commonly recognized as a recreational drug.
But it's purpose is to prevent nausea. As for someone with a drug habit, and who takes dramamine with certain drugs to eliminate the nausea brought on by those drugs, I would name a song "Dramamine" as a more subtle way of saying "heroin" or "Suboxone". |

While the "it's legal, perfectly natural" lyrics would suggest it's marijuana, I believe it's immigration. In the old time, anyone could emigrate anywhere (almost), as immigrants built the USA. But now, things are far more strict. Yay or nay? |

Dude, are you kidding? Anyone who's shot smack WILL tell you it's as sweet as Reed makes it out to be. I mean, why wouldn't they? It's the best artificially-induced feeling on earth. |

I think this song is about being an alcoholic and relapsing at a dance/party. The chorus "I've really been on a bender and it shows" suggests literally that the subject is partying; the lines "give me a shot to remember" may refer to taking a shot after a lengthy period of being on the wagon and finally remembering what it's like to be intoxicated again. |
