The official lyrics for the studio version are "and you would rot the brain in her head", but he sings "that you were born for greatness" live. Just to clear up any confusion. |

Interestingly, this is very similar to an early Radiohead song (back when they were 'On A Friday') called 'Shindig'. Most of it is the same, except that 'Shindig' is a little quicker, lacks Jonny's great solo and has an extra chorus thingy that actually sounds pretty good. If they re-recorded 'Shindig' in a higher quality, I would like it more than 'Maquiladora'. |

I guess this is an anti-war song. "Mr. B 29" is the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, a bomber that was primarly used during WWII and Korea. It's interesting that Thom is singing about the B-29 during the chorus, but referring to Palestine in the verse, as the two are unrelated. |

This is such a fun song, with some great guitar riffs to play along with.
As for the meaning...well, I think it's rather obvious, don't you? |

I absolutely love the way this song almost dies out about two-thirds through. Every time I listen to it I have the bass and feedback combination, as it builds back up, stuck in my head for days. Radiohead really put their triple-guitar attack to good work on these earlier songs. |
