i feel like this song is about being trapped in a depression.. you have this haunting feeling that if you were to go walk around and try to be a "normal person" you would be rejected and abused.. you want to escape but there's nothing you can do but ask to be let out and hope you are answered |

I feel like this song is just for anybody who is tired and lonely, they have been living this same routine for so long and they just feel alone. "turned all of my whines into doing fines, it saved me so much time." that lyric is so beautiful and so honest, we all have done that in a time of loneliness when you feel that no one really cares. as he thinks over his life he considers suicide "3 stories above, i hear theres a view. long way to the ground..." but then you realize, no i don't want that, i can fix this. then it continues "now ive got a view, miles to the ocean" and thats positive but unfortunately he just doesnt have time for a girl or something he loved "but i cant see you and maintain devotion, i wish i could say i'll be there." and then he realizes, having that ocean view is not what he wants, whatever the ocean view is, could be a lot of things, he realizes he can go back to whatever it was. you can restart, pay off the debt you owe to your heat... go and restart. it feels like "a light at the end of the tunnel" kind of song.. so beautifully sincere |
