| So I interpret this as the literal, obvious theme of suicide for the first verse and chorus. The 2nd verse is a little more in-depth as to why he's committing suicide. It basically lists a common reason for suicide- the loss of meaning in life. This is something that a close family member or friend can't see in someone. As a kid, he never thought he would die, but life has gotten the best of this man and he's about to commit suicide. The chorus follows, signaling he really is ready to take the final shot in his life, but then for some reason a kid starts singing, presumably his kid. While most of you think of this as weird or even funny, this is where the true meaning of the song lies. That kid is what he lives for, and he lost sight of that. No matter how terrible life gets, your children need you. The man never did commit suicide because of his child, and HU is probably telling of how selfish suicide is. | |
