The lyrics above might be written incorrectly in this particular stanza. It makes sense to say that Thiessen is referring to the persona as the "wolf". Instead of "You cried wolf, the tear they soaked your fur.." it should be "You cried, Wolf. The tears, they soaked your fur..." Thiessen wrote it that way since it is rhythmically correct. In other words, Christ is reminding the narrator what had done when he repented and gave his life to Christ. Its similar to saying "Wolf, do you remember when you cried?" |
