I see references to the "City of London" which is what we're really referring to when speaking of "The Crown". A city/state within the greater City of London, totally self contained like the Vatican and Washington DC. The three arms of the Fascist global government; London, The Vatican & Washington DC. |

| Tom Waits – Tom Traubert's Blues (Four Sheets to the Wind in Copenhagen) Lyrics

Waltzing Matilda was the slang term that the Australian "swaggie" i.e. hobo used when referring to his swag which is all his possessions wrapped up in a square piece of cloth with the four corners tied together in a knot. He'd pass a short pole through the join and slig it over his shoulder. The swag would rock from side to side as he walked hence 'Waltzing" Matilda (slang for his swag). The song by that name is about a swaggie who drowned while escaping the troopers (Police) not actual suicide but taking serious risks to escape. He'd rather die trying than to be taken alive and incarcerated.
The song Tom Traubert's blues seems to refer to War Veteran's, broken hearts, infidelity and their path to homelessness but let's not get too specific here the nature of this music is it's broad interpretations which connect and heal the many rather than the few. Waites borrowed the chorus linking it with his song "Tom Traubert's Blues" and rightly so, the two songs have a lot in common. |

| Joni Mitchell – Chelsea Morning Lyrics

Clearly the song expresses those feelings and emotions that run through our minds "the morning after", as we awaken and feel the joy that comes with new love. No strings or talk of the future (and we'll talk in present tenses) but a strong desire for the new lover to remain. Apparently a perfect morning to accompany such feelings of joy but it could have been pouring rain onto a deserted street and Joni would still have felt as she did. Everyone must have experienced such a morning I know I did. It's not just about nice weather and happy towns, it goes a lot deeper than that. |

I think your interpretation of purple barrels is correct. We used to have "orange barrels" which were incredible strong. An "heroic dose" as some called it, so powerful that many lives were changed after ingestion, most for the better, a couple lost their way but hey! sometimes we must take a gamble. |
