| I believe this song is about the elating feeling of love, but love that is unrequieted. At the beginning it is talking about floating like in a dream, maybe dreaming of the one you love who doesn't love you in return. The cold light of day is often used to mean the truth, and as the old light of day dawns, the truth comes out and causes great pain. The sun going down could mean the happiness that you feel in the dream ('sun') goes away as you wake up and the truth comes out to be replaced with the darkness of sadness. | |
