I truly think this is similar to "a dream in general" or possibly even one of the band members. The imagery is very scattered like a dream and the song in itself is without conclusion and has gaps like a dream does. Running, without aim through the razor reeds (I'm still convinced to this day that he says "reeds not weeds." that only reach my knees. VERY DREAM LIKE and when I'm lying in the great sleep (dreaming) I dont know how to walk the boards SOMETIMES WE CAN FUNCTION PHYSCIALLY IN A DREAM I open my eyes and look at the floor, and now I don't see you anymore IN A DREAM, SOMEONE IS THERE TIL WE OPEN OUR EYES IN A STARTLE, ONLY TO SEE NO ONE OR NOTHING THAT WAS JUST THERE There is no choice. Hey there. This is my first post. Peter is the best. He touches me like no other. His lyrics are truly profound on so many levels, but with this song it's the basic "together we can do anything" concept. I feel (in my opinion of course) that this song is an expression of loyalty and faith. The speaker is basically stating that despite tough times, together, we'll make it through. The other person in the song is down, his/her eyes running wild throughout nights that are woven and repetitive. He is saying that he hears him/her all night long, every night, and if she/he just hold his hand, together they'll make it through no matter what. The season is coming. All the nights, we'll make it through. On a personal note, this is a song that truly captured my heart throughout my own touch times and will always be one of my favorites. Especially the "Just For Love" version. He is magic. He draws tears, both sorrow and hope, tears of joy ultimately. Oh, and if you haven't seen him live, go go go! Magic! Richie |
