couldn't have said it better myself, my thoughts exactly. to me it's about other people in life getting you down. once you've seen what they have been to win the earth just won't seem worth your night or your day nice people finish last.? |

I think all songs are open to interpretation... but when I listened to this it I thought it described living with depression perfectly... loving the world through someone elses eye's.. wishing you could see the world the way others do. "it's always been wait and see, a happy day and then you pay" seems to describe the view of people with a bipolar disorder... things are great, a sudden high and there is always a low around the corner. the higher you feel the bigger the come down. It's seems like he feels like he's not good enough "damaged bad at best".. and the fear of being rejected for something that is out of your control (mental illness) "She'll decide what she wants I'll probably be the last to know No one says until it shows and you see how it is They want you or they don't" To me, this part is about how it is hard to deal with and understand depression yourself let alone being with someone, having a relationship, and trying to make them understand the illness too. The line "no one says until it shows and you see how it is. They want you or they don't" suggests that once the other person finds out about the mental illness they sometimes don't know how to deal with it or can't handle it and leave. And if the other person decides to stick around you can continue to have that flicker of happiness through their eyes despite the ups and downs. |
