YES thank you. i definitely think it was a way to tie the two songs together. obviously both songs are talking about a love interest he once or couldn't have. if you listen to contrast and compare he talks about being at parties and hating it because it was too much noise, commotion. it kind of shows him in a deep sort of slump or depression (which can be the time period in which this song refers to when it says "i spent a year quietly dying") so the part where you can hear "No, it's seven" is kind of a slight way to show that he is talking about the same person in both songs. and in contrast and compare SHE (the reason he is so sad- duh) grabs his arm. and he tries to "just smile and say everything's fine" WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT this sounds a lot like someone who is trying to seem okay in front of an ex/now friend who they really miss AND MY NEXT POINT BEING the Bright Eyes song- It's Cool, We Can Still Be Friends explains this situation almost exactly how you would picture it played out. and i'm not sure if you know it but he mentions that they still WATCH MOVIES as if that is some sort of important celebration they would share together as a couple. WHICH BRINGS ME BACK TO THIS SONG "a thousand movies rented for a thousand nights with her" (from untitled, the song above) so obviously i think all three of these songs are related and each of them are about the same person. and i could guess who that might be<3 |

| no, no, that is a different song off the EP, The Joy in Forgetting/The Joy in Acceptance. this was a hidden track i think rewinding past the very first track, my copy is digital so i don't know. i just know it was never titled, just dubbed Lovers Turn Into Monsters | |
