The song is obviously about someone that's been kicked around quite a bit in their life ("Like being a ball getting tossed", "You denied my existence") but rather than give in, they channel their abuse into motivation ("I use your shove to move me", "Rage is the drive that makes me act"). It seems the tormentor of the narrator is very calculating and cold ("I am a number never seen Alien to your calculations", "You got the skills to manipulate, Just a matter of statistics"). They also sound to be a person in a possition of high power. ("Your actions are sold as fate, Fear is your tool for control", "While your servants kill in Gucci suits"). This could symbolize big buisness and it's affect on the "little man". On the other hand, this song could be about the God of Mischief it is so titled after, Loki (the Marvel Comics adaption). "A hunch becomes a certainty My past life wasn't what it seemed Now you lose control of me No deceptions blind my eyes It doesn't hurt to cut these ties That you made for taming me" Loki confirms he's really an ice giant when speaking to Oden, thus making the turn from Asgard. |
