I saw another comment that really sums up what I make this song out to be. It's about how no one ever seems to remember God except when times go from good to bad. People forget that in addition to the hard times in life, God is there for the joys in life as well. Love this song. It has a solemnity to it that sticks with me even hours after I listen. |

I think this song is about our pressures to be the best, when in reality no one can even come close. We're all the same and there's no human way to decide who's "won." When she gets to the part about "why are you so scared you stand there shaking in the pew," I believe it's touching on the subject of self-worth. The winner doesn't feel that he, of all people, has won the award, and to feel that YOU are the best human out there, it's a terrifying thought. Overall, this is a haunting, profound song about the pressures of being a human. |

This is seriously my all-time favorite song. It has so much hope for a song in its genre. It touches on a sensitive subject like suicide without being sappy. Everything about this song is realistically raw and I LOVE it. There is not one crappy mood that has not been cured by listening to this song. Love it <3 |
