This song has to be, in part, inspired by Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill. Not only does Hanna show up on the album in Letterbomb, but it can't be a coincidence that the song "She's a Rebel" has the line "She sings of revolution" (recalling the Bikini Kill song "Rebel Girl" with the lyrics "When she talks, the revolution's coming"). |

muletrainhoe, they stopped putting out songs like this because they grew up. Touring for Licensed to Ill they became the guys they were mocking with their songs, so they stepped back, reflected, and came out with the radically different but also incredible Paul's Boutique. It wasn't all about selling records.
But yeah...I miss the old Beasties sometimes too. "She's Crafty" might be my favorite from Licensed to Ill. But I've never understood the "tip to base" line...anyone have opinions? |
