I struggle with this song. It's amazing, but it made me think a lot as my current boyfriend and I were never best friends, we went straight into the relationship and after listening to this song, I've been struggling with the idea that it couldn't work. We could never be best friends, but I can still hope we'll last forever (I am only young, but we've been together a little over a year, and for people my age, this is long)
As far as the meaning of this song goes, it seems a similar situation - two young people, probably teenagers, rushed into a relationship and it was rushed, but beautiful at the time. "We're covered in each other's warm embrace" is that kind of closeness from being all cuddled up, like being in bed on a cold winter night falling asleep in each other's arms.
Basically, it's a beautiful song, and so close to my life at the moment, I can't stop singing it! |

This song for me is like a "bouncing off the walls" type thing. Not bouncing off the walls as in being hyper, but trying to escape from a room and you're trying to make one of the walls give but you can't. |

I always thought this song was where someone had taken control of your life, saying "you got me hanging upside down" as a metaphor for losing control. Maybe someone you've told secrets to, then they twist what you say and take over your life. |
