Adele – Someone Like You Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm so glad someone shares my interpretation. She sees he's happy and they're such great friends so she's willing to let him go, but now she knows that she wants to find someone exactly like him.

Mumford & Sons – Roll Away Your Stone Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is about a guy asserting himself over a girl who has constantly toyed with him.

"Roll away your stone, I’ll roll away mine
Together we can see what we will find
Don’t leave me alone at this time,
For I'm afraid of what I will discover inside"

At first he is suggesting they split apart, but then out of fear immediately changes his mind. He is torn between what he thinks is right for himself and what his feelings want.

"Cause you told me that I would find a hole,
Within the fragile substance of my soul
And I have filled this void with things unreal,
And all the while my character it steals"

She's taunted the purity of his love within his soul and mentioned that he'll soon learn the cynical nature of love and relationships. Instead he has filled this very whole with the opposite: fictional ideas of what the relationship could be... this desire for perfection turning him into a push over.

"Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see"

He thinks he's being over dramatic, and knows that she thinks he's being over dramatic, but all he can ever see when it comes to love is darkness and despair.

"It seems that all my bridges have been burned,
But you say that’s exactly how this grace thing works
It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive with the restart"

The first two lines could mean multiple things but I think he's saying all of the bridges to her often seem burned, but then she always comes back to him with the explanation that her behavior is simply how life is. The next lines are him claiming that he never feels whole while she's gone, and only regains happiness when their relationship restarts.

"Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see
Darkness is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I've seen"

Same as before, except this time he emphasizes that the darkness of love is what he's always seen no matter how much he wants to believe in its light.

"Stars hide your fires,
These here are my desires
And I won't give them up to you this time around
And so, I’ll be found with my stake stuck in this ground
Marking the territory of this newly impassioned soul"

And then the music gains power as he gains power. The stars=fate=what's supposed to happen and this shows him that no matter how appealing she is to him he's too good for her. Then he makes sure to put all of his feelings on the table before telling her that she's missed her chance and can't have them. He is standing firm on this position (stake stuck in the ground) and he's reclaiming his soul.

"But you, you’ve gone too far this time
You have neither reason nor rhyme
With which to take this soul that is so rightfully mine"

This is fairly self-explanatory. Just him finalizing his position that the relationship and her power of him are completely through.

I agree that this song could very well be about drugs, but since I've been screwed over by many women and never struggled with drug addiction the song is more appealing to me when about a girl, so alas this is my interpretation.
