Tottally aqree. I also think that in the 1st stanza Robert is completely alone, therefore he can talk to himself in third person, but in the 2nd stanza even though his dad might not be there yet, he knows he's coming so he wants to be on his best behaviour. |

I think it's about him being in love someone but she's taken, and he's trying to persuade her to run off with him. Maybe she used to be with him, and he's trying to get her back.
