"But it's alright. Yeah it's alright. I said it's alright. Easy for you to say. Your heart has never been broken. Your pride has never been stolen. Not yet, not yet." i believe, from my personal experiences, that these lines of the song illustrate a situation in which a very important relationship of some kind has ended, and someone is trying to make this person feel better by saying that its alright, without knowing what the person is going through. to that, the person answers with "easy for you to say" because, as mentioned before, that someone doesnt know the pain this person is feeling from this situtation. then the person answers with " Not yet, not yet" which pretty much means that one day, eventually that someone will experience what the person is going through, and then obtain the right to say it'll be alright, because they themselves have experienced it. thats just my take on those couple of lines... people may have a different opinion on it, but thats what i think anyway... |
