Radiohead – How to Disappear Completely Lyrics 14 years ago
as was stated way back, "it's great for when u just want to sit in a darkened room on your own and contemplate life etc..." and followed by Treefingers (dreamy instrumental) are a great one-two combo

It's fantastic that in what has come to be, arguably as it were in 2000 when released, an MP3 world, where promotion, production, etc. is aimed at releasing singular works that Radiohead continues to produce thoughtful compilations to be listened to as art. Not only as singular works which stand the test of time on their own, but also in the context of "an album"; where listening to the album as it is intended pays tribute to their incredible skills. Not just skills as musicians but as artists.

Take for instance that whether listening in long form (CD-style) or even LP (two sides, 5 on one side, 5 on the other) then Optimistic fits the bill. One could argue that its a higher energy, charged track that after "flipping the album" over - yes, I am that old to remember having to do so - kicks off the second side. Or taken as a CD, ever flowing... that "How to" literally instructs the listener to "turn on - the CD, not acid :), tune in, drop out" to recharge your batteries. As mentioned in one interpretation that Thom was writing this as a catharsis..., then develops into the dreamy Treefingers to somewhat begin to stir the energy pot, to coalesce again one's energy. Then drop into Optimistic to get oneself going again...

/my two cents.

Spoon – You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb Lyrics 14 years ago
*note, I accidently replied to someone's already posted comments, oops...

I'm surprised that no one invoked the punk legend reference to the song "Cherry Bomb" by The Runaways. Can this be successfully analyzed with that reference in his mind as a metaphor for the female "hoo hoo"? Probably not, but something to think about :)
