| In my own interpretation, I believe Jon (David writing Psalms) is talking about the ultimate satisfaction that you receive in being with and resting in God. David floods the Psalms with being so dependent on God, and Him being his shelter and his "feast in the presence of enemies." As soon as you're in a right relationship with God, you will never be wanting anything else, nothing else will or could satisfy. But according to the bible, in order to be in the right relationship with God, we must repent of our naturally inherited sin and turn to Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, one who bore our iniquities so we may be reconciled with God. Personally, in following Jesus, I have never found myself wanting anything or anyone else. | |
