| ... This is 'Heron Blue' from his album 'April', not Half Moon Bay (which is from 'Admiral Fell Promises'). | |

I wish people would stop likening the lyrics to Twilight. It doesn't fit for Twilight, so don't try. You can't cherry-pick 'Flightless bird' and say "Oh, that's so like Bella" while ignoring other parts, like 'Big pill stuck going down'. The song is very much linked, on a grander scale, to American values and their loss, as well as a negative progression. On a more personal, story-telling level that Sam is used to, it seems to be an echo of drug dependency. Either way, the lyrics are not appropriate for Twilight. Liken it to Twilight if you like by saying it's a beautiful song and it works in that scene, but the lyrics do not. |

| The comment might have been made in 2007, but so was this song. He released it on his album 'The Shepherd's Dog'. There IS an Iron & Wine outside of Twilight, and I wish people would remember that. | |
| Iron & Wine – Biting Your Tail Lyrics | 14 years ago |

"Want as much the snake as the garden Wear them both like a glove that you can't wave" "Both the post and the pig you're untying" "Someday I'll make a face worth slapping" "May you end it bruised and purple" "'Cause round and round you'll go, bitin' your tail" "We're the children the wind is whipping" "And I'll forget that we'll get what's coming" You can hear the lyrics much more clearly in his acoustic 4AD Session. |

| Iron & Wine – Rabbit Will Run Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I previously said that in the first verse, it should be 'as the colt does along with the mare'. I now think it could also be 'as the cold does along with the mare', which would keep with the natural theme Beam creates, with all the natural references (animals being the most prominent). Also, one of the lines in this interpretation is 'a hunger I cannot control', but it's definitely ''cause I love what I cannot control'. The line that says 'we've cloud for the King though our fingers were cold' is wrong too, I think, and it should be 'we've clapped for the King though our fingers were cold'. |

In the first verse, it's 'Because the rabbit will run, as the colt does along with the mare.' |

I definitely agree with you there. It's 'the night won't compensate the blind', and it's better off for it too. It truly is a beautiful lyric, and as always Sam has thoroughly impressed me with this song. So far, I'm absolutely loving his new album. |

| Iron & Wine – Walking Far from Home Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think: "Saw a boatful of believers sail off Talking too loud, talking too loud" Could also be: "Saw a boatful of believers say I was Talking too loud, talking too loud" That's what I thought it was at first, and it seemed appropriate to give meaning to the idea of believers suffocating the words of others. |
