| I know that it's very down to earth, but I guess it's about a hooker. The chorus sung by Alice Cooper is maybe about a guy, not very confident and lonely, who lives not far from some whorehouse and who finally indulges himself. He lost his virginity to a gypsy with blond hair. Felt so good he never wants to leave this place. At the beginning he's not sure about going there but he finally makes the move and loves it, feeling the flowers as they wrap around, but only smart boys do without. Smart boys live in surburbs, are married and have kids. But they would really like to be poor once in a while so they could let the flowers wrap around. And when it's over, Bye Bye, so long, it's glad to know you. | |

Not controversial blowaaa... It's just that not everybody is born in a happy, wealthy family. Some, like me, are born on a tropical island with a white sandy beach and turquoise lagoon and coconut trees in front of their home, with a nice family and enough money to eat 3 meals everyday... Some are born in Somalia in the desert with aids and famine and war and no freedom of thinking and where torture is absolutely legal... God put a smile upon my face... God did not put a smile upon this kid's face in, let's say, Afghanistan... Or even upon the face of the kid living in the ghetto 5 miles away from where I live... His mum and sister are prostitutes, his dad's an alcoholic in prison for being a pimp who's selling his own daughter and his brother is a heroin addict who gets the drug from his neighbour... Concerning God, you should know that your belief and others' are not the same... Not everyone's God is in the Bible... Some are in the Coran, some have 8 arms, some sit down and meditate... My point is: I was born with very little things that could make me complain and cry... Some are born with so much to complain about... Everyone deserves love and grace but not everybody is born within love and grace... This song asks you: Do you really have to complain because you can't buy yourself the latest BMW 5 series M Sport, but only the 3 series convertible? |

There’s nothing to do with the Bible, or anything. It’s about this thing called “Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen” The first article says: Everyone is born free and remains equal in rights. Is that right? NO! This song is only telling you that if your boss is a pain or if your car broke down today, or if your playstation doesn’t play X-Box cds, don’t complain, you are blessed to have a job, a car and a playstation. Some don’t even have food and shelter and were born like this. Are we really born free and do we remain equal in rights? NO! So for what you have, smile because it’s all grace given to you. By God, or just by life … luck … call it whatever you want … |
