Haha. I slept for 36 hrs after passing out on xanax and thought of this song. It's about realizing how dangerous your addiction is. I am here, and you are here, but we are not really here at all. (ie. they're high :p) Chew them up, (obvious) build the fort, (emotionally) they won't see where we're hiding. (this is obvious too) I see the road slipping as our eyes glaze over. (Can be with any pills, but xanax and benzos will make you pass the fuck out when driving) Warnings, just keep those blanket and pillows coming, and turn those fucking lights off. (crashing) As long as we make it alive our ears will reject their babble, and we'll fall around like imbeciles. (ignoring other's warnings because you woke up alive and couldn't have fucked up too badly....) the funny thing about this song is, that I woke up, remembered the title of the song, but never realized how fitting the lyrics were. lol |

This song is about depression. Anyone who has experienced legitimate chemical, physiological depression will understand that right away. It's well articulated though. The sleep and sleep like song reminds me of Wandering Star by Portishead. |
