Robert is an imaginary protagonist, if you want to understand a song writers mentality you can't listen to one song say "i've got it" It's a message to kids everywhere to be nicer as in America you don't know who has got into thier "daddys secret closet" or you may have made feel an outcast. The pumped up kicks is just a generic reference to "all" the other kids, if you have them, he could have said jocks or head bangers or anything.. as someone said before ... lyrics are not concrete |

Pitseleh is apparantly a yiddish word meaning "little one" .. as quoted .. its a sorry for his suicide he had been planning for years .. incase he had a child.. it's pretty obvious in the context of Smith and his feelings at the time .. he was building a life with a new love and hoped to have a baby but depression and self loathing come hand in hand... i was lucky i had my daughter before i jumped the bridge and its the only thing that stops me :) .. listen now and you will hear |
