No one ever mentioned what David said about this song on the DVD documentary, Disturbed MOL. I guess I have to be the one to say it. David said, "I was watching a special on the Discovery Channel about voices in the head and it inspired me to write a song about thoughts of a psychotic individual that hears voices to tell him to do terrible things to people."

I just bought the album Cruelty And The Beast (Limited Edition Bonus Disc) and I came to reading the part of this song, Eyes That Witnessed Madness. To the right of it below the illustration of Lector, it has this saying...
"This libertine poses as a priest, first cataloging sordid confessions from his flock before showering his seed into their cold dead eyes. Shagrath is not satanist, if anyone in the band is, it's silenoz. He writes mostly all of the lyrics, not all, but most of the lyrics. Example.. buy Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and look in the booklet on the song Sympozium, it says the lyrics are written by Vortex. The point is, Silenoz believes christ is the father of lies. Again, read the booklet of In Sorte Diaboli, that specifically proves my point. The story of the album he chooses to write about impacted his life, if you want proof it did, watch this video...
