I agree. I was really hoping some people had commented on it. I have a thought or two on it: Maybe it's about the whole male/female push/pull. The typical guy approaches his feelings for a female through his lust. The typical woman approaches her feelings through her love. So the title of the song is 'afterhours' and for whatever reason, I picture this female bartender and this gal he's *well acquainted* with. He's sitting at the bar while she's closing up. Maybe he's recalling half a dozen spats they've had where she's told him he's wasting her time and he's then hidden 'from her eyes' (at least in my opinion, that's typically how that fight tends to go down. He keeps coming back though, driven by his physical desire to 'violate' her. So he tells himself it's not going to happen again when he damn well knows it is. Meaning no disrespect to either sex. Yes, it's kind of a subjective view for me right now. |
