I have a morbid theory to the tomatoes. He talks about his garden with fake flowers and lawn knows. And I think in the next line hes talking about him and his family standing in that garden. And in the final line, the tomatoes are drops of blood. It ends with his reason for losing everything. |

Such a beautiful Sad song. This is how I think it goes: The order of the song is very interesting. He is telling a story from future to past. The first verse is the future where he is conflicted with regret, thinking back to something sorrowful. He feels obsessed with work and struggles to find a balance between it and life. There is also foreshadowing with hints at cancer, 30 seconds to wake up, and death. This verse is metaphorical and scattered showing his distress. The second verse is the present where he tells a literal story of his experience waking up to find the person he loves gone from this world. The third verse is the past. The night before he finds her dead. It ties in the two themes of his over active mind and the women he loves. It gives an incredibly moving glimpse into how he views / loves her. Making the previous verse sting that much more. I think this song is brilliant. |

I feel like this tells a story of her short while love. A man that possible came from a different country and they fell in love, but then he decided to leave again. It has a beautiful and sorrowful feel to it that makes me think they both felt love for each other which is why its so hard to move on. But I also interpreted it as something else. I see a love that passed away just when they were on the verge of falling madly in love. This probably wasn't her intention, but its interesting and eerie to me. |
