It's about caffeine addiction. Never heard of a "crippling" addiction to caffeine before, but I guess the singer must've had it bad if it gave him the same inspiration to write a song that alcohol or drug addictions give to other musicians. |

I've read a few sources that say Phil Labonte is a christian, but this song doesn't make much sense to me in a christian context. Why would a person of faith need to claim not to be faithless? "We're far from faithless" seems to be a more appropriate response to being accused of being faithless, which is something a religious person probably doesn't get accused of very often. To me, this song makes more sense in a context of non-religiousness. Someone might be called "faithless" for being agnostic, atheist, etc. but their rebuttal might be that they have faith in themselves and their abilities. They "believe that [they] belong" to humanity as a whole and want the "weakness" of hatred and discrimination among mankind to fall. |

Yup. It's about a friend having an affair with his wife. Since they are both people he cares about, he hopes they can be happy with each other even if they did both screw him over. He just simply wants nothing to do with either of them though, which is why there's "nothing left to do". The chorus really captures the feeling of his reluctant selflessness. Not so sure about the murder thing though. "House of pain" means emotional pain. It's a good way to make the lines about the trenches make sense, though. But the rest of the song doesn't really give off that brutal of a vibe. |
