I would also like to add that in the line "Y si me quedo sin alas" it should be quemo which is I burn and alas means wings so that should be "And if I burn without wings". I think it's like if she ends up in hell instead of heaven. |

Yes, but she didn't escape, and the age difference thing can't be cleared up any other way. Plus she describes one of her captors as "the handsomest warrior". Probably not the words she would have used if it were "real". It reads like a romance novel so I'm inclined to agree with Hazhar. |

I think he was maybe in a not quite commited relationship with some girl, maybe she wasn't quite into him enough to commit, and he realized that it was never going to happen so he stopped seeing her, but he misses the relationship they had. |

I love this song! Though the first time I heard it I was wondering what that word was in the first line...I was like I sure hope this isn't racist! lol. It's not. It's where her step dad is from or something. This whole song is about her upbringing and how the band got together. |

I had heard that the songs on Oh! Perilous World! were allegories for modern day phenomenon. Not sure where so I could be completely wrong but if so, the snail fever in the song could be an allegory for HIV/AIDS. Some supporting quotes are "Specialists can't deduce if this is incurable." "Now a disease defines me" Also, the fact that some survive and it is only explained by "the way that they walk" or "the look in their eyes." |

One time walking out a bar with my boyfriend at the time, a homeless man walked up to us and asked for a cigarette. I gave him one of mine. He started to walk away but then turned around again and asked if one of us had a dollar and got one from my boyfriend. When he left we both started walking toward the car and suddenly, at the same time began singing, "If I had a cigarette...." |
