| Radiohead – Codex Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Thank you Thom and the rest of Radiohead for reminding me of my childhood. I know and am sad that my son and daughter will probably not experience the same feeling/thing that I had. thank you though for this reminder... It actually does mean a lot. Sincerely, |

| Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Why would they sing with this passion about this? It's because they have actually experienced what they are singing about. The meaning could go in a few directions, but I think the bulk of the song is in reference to what has happened in the very distant past. It is almost like a reliving of powerful feelings. My guess is that for the most part the narrative is from a mother(of father's) point of view about their children. |

| Arcade Fire – Suburban War Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The suburbs (not the song but the general description) historically has been stereotyped as a soul-less and boring place where nothing happens and feelings about life have been muted. To me this song refutes that assumption... and does it beautifully. |

| Arcade Fire – We Used to Wait Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I am in my late 30s and I feel a kinship with these band-members when I listen to and think about the lyrics. "We used to wait" is definitely a harking back to when most communication between people wasn't instant. I know a lot of the fans of arcade fire are probably younger than them... so maybe they don't understand the actual importance of what has changed over the last 5 to 10 years when it comes to communicating with each other. But I understand. This change is very drastic. It is a big deal. Kudos to Arcade Fire for making a song about it. |
