| MC Chris – Nrrrd Grrrl Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| i love the fact that there is a neon genesis evangelion line in this song. one of my favorite animes... and a favorite of many of my nrrrd girl pals as well... i can't believe some people are saying these girls don't exist... i've known so many of them, and even dated a few. they are real, and totally worth it if you are a nerdy guy. my life changed the day i realized i would never be compatable with the hot cheerleader chicks, but that those cool friends who liked comics and anime and indy rock... were totally crushing on me too... now this is the only type of girl i go for, and my fiance would have to agree | |

that line is just his response to the poet in regaurd to the song padriac. h explains that people are made of water, and fear, and we all had mothers. conor is slightly annoyed by this poet guy, but they talk about the song and pretend like they are friends. its not a veiw on femenism or women, just the themes in his song |

| Harvey Danger – Flagpole Sitta Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think everyone is right to an extent. the first verse is definatly about masturbating. as a whole though, i think the song is reflecting back on 90's popular culture, and the teenage agst that went along with it. like how every nirvana fan was jaded and depressed. the song looks opon this time mockingly. i think he's trying to say angst and depression and crazyness, during this time, were not at all sincere, but actually in style and trendy. The fact that the song is even called " flagpole sitta " is very telling. In the 1920s, a trendy activity for teenagers to engage in, was flagpole sitting, where someone would shimmy up a flagpole, and try to perch at the top. if this seems pointless and silly to us now, then just imagine how future generations are going to judge all the gloom and doom, that transpired after kurt cobain died | |

I think this song fits in with the other sci fi themes on the album. In this song i think he's looking toward a future, in with our souls, or consciousness are embodied in computers. In the song " i got a reason #2 ", he alludes to a similar idea, that the satallites are the " last noah's ark ", containing what's left of a dead earth. I also think the " columns of purple light " in the jungle, might be this noahs ark concept again, where spaceships are collecting species from the jungle, to preserve for the future. Conor sings " I'll come back eventually ", suggesting that biological life will resurface again and again. |
