There is no hidden meaning to the lyrics. Billy Davey is a character from Kelly's home town of Cwmaman. He had 6 daughters,the yougest of which,is the girl in the title.(although the lyric says "Billy's second daughter") She hooked up with a local junkie and had a violent relationship. While traveling back from England to Wales, they were having a violent argument. Half way over the Severn bridge, she got out of the car and jumped over, killing herself. "the bride that parts us" literally means the the bridge that parts the Welsh from the English. |
