Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man Lyrics 10 years ago
@[jtquenlin:2070] Regarding Laurie85's comment, I can't help but think of Paul McCartney writing Hey Jude for John Lennon's son. A father-son dynamic doesn't require an actual father and son. I thought basically the same as jtquenlin.

The Killers – Mr. Brightside Lyrics 14 years ago
Sorry if this has already been said:

I kept thinking about the "gotta gotta be down, cause i want it all" line. The repetition of "gotta" makes this one line feel like something he has been obsessively repeating to himself (it feels that way when i sing along) even though he only says it twice in the song.

to "be down" means to be okay with something, to accept it. He's trying to be okay with something he thought he wanted. After watching the video for the first time, I'm now thinking that the thing he wants to be okay with is an open relationship where he has to allow his partner to be sexual with other men so that he can also fool around (have it all) or maybe even that they are in an orgy and he wanted that but now is having trouble seeing her participate as well.

The orgy idea would explain why he is watching..
An open relationship would explain the word alibis; stories about where she's been.
