Rock me like a hurricane was a huge hit and is where i became a fan. Being born with a heart condition I had to have surgery done in '91 and this song kept morale up for me. I recovered well and was a changed person afterward.
I was about 11 when this song came out just after the wall came down. Huge Huge song that not only played a big role in my likeness for music, but awareness of life in general. Songs like these are timeless |

musically this song fuckin kicks ass! One of my favorites. I have had problems listening to it because of the Anti-American pussy asshole lyrics. I fuckin hate singing this song because i know what is says. I do not believe what this song is saying truthful statements. I believe it is a liberal left progressive view that does not understand the world we live in. Freedom isn't free cause our brave volunteer soldiers and our strong leaders that understand that the world will fuck us at any chance possible. If only this was a real war cry i could get behind. Very emotional and expressing strong feelings, which is what i love. |

when i first thought about what this song was about i instantly made a connection from These Three Things to These Three Kings. As i read the lyrics i cannot implement this into the song with confidence. I can make a connection to the fact that The 3 Kings that brought Myrrh, Frankincense, and Gold new of the birth of Jesus thru the great star. These Three Things are of our world and what our sins will bring. The last verse makes the connection best. It is believed by many that the end of 2012 there will be judgement. The 3 Kings new of the new beginning as Jesus. There is a new beginning in the works.
My favorite reference in this song is the Fisherman Simon also known as the hunter of man or Peter The Rock

an endless slave behind your belief makes me think this song refers to either unconditional fans or love or hate. Could also mean military force or gang, crew. Islam? I have posted on all the Blessed hellride songs and do believe this album has some political/military reference. Most of these songs written in '02? Believe 9/11 had influence. Point made from dante4d is interesting, but i think Phil Anlsemo stuffed that idea long before you say Zakk mentioned it in an acoustic interview. Heavy music is not dead!!

I think that it is possible this could be about a son that has never met his mother. Maybe grew up in a shitty foster care home and never felt loved. All his life he has dreamed of meeting her and he 's thinking how great and loving she is gonna be. Then he meets her and she's a fuckin' crack head tellin him she'll suck his dick for a fix. Total and utter devistation to his feelings=Stillborn. This may be a stretch, but more realistic to me than a break up with some chik. I grew up with loving parents by the way. |

People will come and go and people will try to fuck you over along the way, even your family- forgotten son or daughter. Eventually the filth of the earth will drown us all.
