I believe this song is about just being a sinner. I think it is a comparison between drinking and sinning. "One last night at the lonely wheel One last taste of the sin we feel One hope in the fear That drives us on One last drink just to kill the pain One last breath Before I say your name I'm giving into you" This chorus really speaks to me as it is just what we all tell ourselves. We plead with ourselves that this is the last time we will give into our addictions but we just end up giving in and leave ourselves broken. "If you could see in me There is all you want There is all you want If you would just give in It will get easier, it will get easier" now this I like believe that it is talking about the lies that our addictions tell us, saying that they are all we need; all we want. I also think the last line refers to how not only we are promised things will get easier or better when we sin but also how the more we give in to sin and go against our convictions the easier it is for us to fall into the same hole; as if the hole gets deep each time we tap into it. "I get it, I need to fall I get it, I need to call Me and who I are so in the way Me and who I am, We are so in the way " This last part is just about falling down and realizing that we are the ones who are at fault. he screams that 'me and who I am are so in the way', which refers to the fact that our human nature is in the way of gods plan. I love The Almost soo much, Aaron is my role model. He is just so full of God's spirit and is trying to show everyone what the love of God really is. He sings with such raw emotion that the songs that he has written have just moved me when I am going through tough times. The way he can capture the way we feel as christian sometimes just leaves me awestruck. |
