A couple has broken up and the girl is trying to say it was a mutual break up, or that they both wanted to, but he knows different. She is just using it as an excuse. In the end he can't stand the way she looks at him now with pity, and to put it simply, he is going to Cleveland to escape this all. My very literal interpretation. |

The song is fairly straight-forward in its meaning. He knows that she is undercover and is only with him to take him down, but he is able to forget it. He doesn't care why she is with him, and he does not mine being turned in as long as he gets to be with her. |

Just wanted to say that I think it is amazing that both this song and "No Children" came out the same year. Second I believe this is about a couple that has fallen out of love, refuses to admit it, and tries to fill the gap with material goods. |
