| I feel that listening to Just Dance and then this, you can tell it's changed, but The Fame Monster transitioned the dance/techno to this nicely without really feeling that wow, she changed so much. But it's not as light hearted and dancey as her first hits. | |

I think this song could mean what she says about leaving darkness behind, but the first time I heard it the only thing that came to mind was her and the Illuminati. It's obvious from her videos she is a puppet of theirs (vigilantcitizen.com if you want to read the articles about her and her videos.) I feel this since she is in love with "Judas" who betrayed Jesus, she loves "them" because they brought her fame, money and everything she wanted but she knows it's wrong. She wants to get away from the Illuminati, but she can't, she clings to them because she wants fame, she sold herself to them, but she knows it isn't right, but she will do anything for them to stay famous, despite knowing it's wrong. (When he comes to me I am ready I wash his feet with my hair if he needs) also comparing herself to Mary Magdeline, who she is also said to be playing in the music video. However, Jesus is where she wants to go, but she can't or won't. This is just my interpretation. I could be completely wrong. Catchy song On another slightly unrelated note, I don't understand why she is using Christianity in her songs and videos now. She referred to it in the Alejandro video, but now it's so prominent in her music and videos, I don't understand why she feels the need to constantly use the church. It was ok at first but now it's just tacky and overdone. |
