I think pretty much everyone who has commented is right, however i also feel that Cohen is saying the modern world is on its way to sure self destruction "Give me back the Berlin wall Give me Stalin, and St paul, I've seen the future brother, it is murder" I think he's kinda saying that the troubles that lye ahead seem more awful and uncomprehendable compared to troubles of the past, in a way the solace of our old evil seems more attractive now we have looked far forward. Sorry i couldn't explain myself any better as i am too high lol. |
