I think too there could be such meaning. The Album over all is much about Death as the "Final Frontier" since nobody really knows what happens when you die. "I'm the jester with no tears And I'm playing on your fears" Playing with our fears could be about the purgatory, waiting for the Sinner in the catholic religion. "The eternal lie I've told About the pyramids of gold I've got you hooked" The Paradise (El Dorado) promised in many Religions, "At every turn your money's left to burn" You can take nothing with you when you're dead. But okay, when Bruce said it is about the economic crap I believe in this and there are many passages that match to that explanation. Maybe the Song has more then just one meaning, depending on how you think about it. |
